Student-Applicant Support Program
The Student-Applicant Support Program SASP is an optional program intended to give application feedback to underrepresented students in advance of the department deadline.
The Student-Applicant Support Program aims to assist underrepresented students as they apply to Stanford’s CS PhD program. To be eligible you must be applying for the CS PhD program at Stanford this year and self-identify as underrepresented in Computer Science.
Applicants may receive one round of meaningful feedback on their resume and statement of purpose from a current PhD student (capacity limited). Participation in the Student-Applicant Support Program is separate from the admissions process and does not guarantee admission.
The application for SASP is now closed.
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS) application deadline is October 12, 2022, 11:59pm PST. KHS is an optional scholarship program.
(No later than) December 6: Graduate program application deadline for KHS applicants. KHS applicants must apply to the graduate program by this date or the program’s standard deadline, whichever is earlier.
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program is designed to build a multidisciplinary community of Stanford graduate students dedicated to finding creative solutions to the world's greatest challenges. The program awards up to 100 high-achieving students every year with full funding to pursue a graduate education at Stanford, including the M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science. To be considered, you must apply to Knight-Hennessy Scholars by October 12, 2022 and separately apply to the Computer Science department.
Application Fee Waiver
The Computer Science department offers application fee waivers to diversity candidates. We especially encourage such applications from first-generation, low-income students, and students from systematically marginalized backgrounds who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The process for requesting a fee waiver can be done by filling out this form.
The Computer Science department is unable to offer a traditional fee waiver.
The School of Engineering also offers fee waivers. Please refer to the website for more information.
